Ingrid Sabisch

Ingrid Sabisch was born in Nuremberg in 1972 and currently lives there. She works as a freelance illustrator and comic artist. Her main focus is on historical and autobiographical comics. She studied communication design at the Würzburg University of Applied Sciences, with a focus on animated film. Erasmus scholarship 1994-95 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, Belgium, animated film. From 1995 to 2000 she worked as an animator at the Stuttgart animation studio Studio Film Bilder. Since 2000 she has been a freelance illustrator and comic artist. Publications include: “Albrecht Dürer – From Craftsman to Scholar” (Verlag die Heldin, 2003), ‘Stretch Marks’ (Schwarzer Turm, 2003), ‘Myth Mom’ (Schwarzer Turm, 2008), ‘41.3 kg – Anorexia?’ (Gütersloher Verlagshaus, 2011), ”Willy Brandt. His Life as a Comic) (drawings, texts: H. Lünstedt, Knesebeck, 2013), “Sophie Scholl – The Comic Biography” (drawings, texts: H. Lünstedt, Knesebeck, 20 15) and “Myth Mommy – We’re still practicing” (Schwarzer Turm, 2017), “Me, my shadow and the full life” (drawings: I.Sabisch, text: Brigitte Endres, Bayer Vital, 2019). For the exhibition of the Bavarian Parliament “Places of Democracy in Bavaria” she drew the graphic novels, www.orte-der-demokratie.bayern.
