THE CONCEPT

The KunstAkademie Bad Reichenhall is a comprehensive educational and cultural platform. We pursue a holistic approach to the education of the individual in artistic, intellectual and social terms. Between the joy of creation and the development of one’s own artistic awareness.

We are the place where you can discover and develop your artistic skills. In collaboration with renowned national and international artists, we offer you a wide range of learning experiences in over 140 courses in the fields of painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, installation, performance, land and urban art. In addition to perfecting technical skills, we aim above all to develop a personal artistic attitude. Our instructors will train your attention and your ability to reflect, help you with technical questions and direct your attention to the richness of artistic expression.

The joy of artistic activity should not be neglected. In our fantastic 19th century factory lofts, we not only offer optimal spatial conditions, but with our location in the center of Bad Reichenhall, we also offer an inspiring, urban environment with restaurants, shopping and, last but not least, overnight accommodation for every taste.

Our pedagogical approach is based on an open concept of art and focuses on the creative and artistic potential of the individual. We all make countless creative decisions every day – whether we see ourselves as artists or creatives, as controllers and managers, as mothers and fathers, as scientists, as cooks or as gardeners.

Think about the start of the day, for example, when you stand in front of your closet. Even if you have practiced abstinence from consumption, your wardrobe probably contains various options that are directly related to your mood, the temperature, the day’s tasks and many other aspects. Then ask yourself the question of breakfast, yes or no, and if yes, what kind of breakfast ….

We can therefore ask ourselves every day, every hour, every minute how we want to shape our lives. In many cases, we decide unconsciously, in other cases very thoughtfully, but in every case this decision also has aesthetic components and consequences. We live in a certain environment, move through the public space that has been designed and where the question of the appearance of our surroundings has also been answered at some point. Not only the outer but also the inner landscape of people is shaped by other people, objects, communication or the environment in general. The mind is shaped by education and its specific content, the body by the way we act and, last but not least, the soul by our interplay between inside and outside.

Our work aims to enable personal development for each individual. Most of our courses are without prerequisites, only our master classes are explicitly aimed at people with artistic experience and require an application to the teachers.
