Uli Hoiß, born in 1953, has devoted himself to watercolor painting for more than 40 years.
In order to share his extensive painting experience with other painters, he has been teaching as a lecturer in watercolor painting in Germany and abroad for many years. In his courses and on watercolor trips, he passes on sound instructions for successful watercolor painting to interested participants.
As a watercolor painter, Hoiß is enthusiastic about the effect of light on nature and he takes every opportunity he is offered to express the constantly changing light moods of the seasons in his pictures.
For him, the success of a painting depends less on the exact reproduction of the motif and much more on the way he captures the lighting. In this process, reducing the painting to its essentials and finishing a watercolor in good time plays a major role in order to leave enough room for the viewer’s own interpretation.
