At the beginning of our journey into abstract painting, we encounter it like an insurmountable mountain! We stand at its foot, overwhelmed by the numerous paths to the summit, faced with our challenges. How do I start? Which composition, which colours do I use to implement my ideas? How do I combine, for example, knowledge of figurative painting/drawing with colour fields and the seemingly boundless freedom of abstraction! We will find answers to these questions in painting sketches and by experimenting with mixed media! Similar to magma in a volcano, spontaneous and fresh ideas will surface! We will reflect on initial approaches in individual and group discussions. Self-acceptance and appreciation play an important role in this process. By implementing these ideas in larger and more complex pictures, we deepen our painterly voice and combine emotions and spontaneity with artistic calculation. Participants are encouraged to bring their own ideas for motifs. I am happy to help and inspire with media excursions into abstract expressionism. Paper, canvas, acrylic – you name it!
