When one strives for the detachment of color from the object in painting, a number of possibilities immediately arise to delve deeper into the essence of light and its appearances. More than a hundred years ago, Kandinsky, Klee and others emphasized the spiritual dimension in painting and also justified it theoretically.
Today, the questions about the “essential” in color and light seem more relevant to me than ever. There is no question in my mind that every single person can enormously expand their sensitivity to these phenomena through training the senses and thinking, and thus also find their way to an artistic language. With the necessary suggestions and a portion of impartiality, new pictorial fields can be discovered and explored. Paul Klee’s credo was – “Art does not reproduce the visible, but makes visible”. With this in mind, this course aims to show people who already have some practical artistic experience ways to combine their strengths to develop interesting painterly approaches.
In this course, I see myself as a supporter and advisor for all questions that may arise in the artistic work. Participants are free to work as they please and choose their own painting technique. Various tools can be used to help build the painting: spatulas, rollers, brushes, squeegees, etc. You can work in oil or acrylic, either on canvas or paper.
