This course is for people who want to surprise themselves and are open to whatever emerges in the creative process. We paint, glue, layer, wipe, pour paint, print, use sand, filler and take found objects from nature into the third dimension.
We throw all notions of right and wrong overboard so that we can work playfully, without preconceptions or constraints. We will learn about frottage, monotype and other techniques and apply them individually in our creative work. We explore worlds of materials, colours and structures, which we use to create tension and contrasts in the pictorial space.
We will experiment creatively with found objects from nature and with all kinds of everyday items. Letting go and allowing things to happen are important attitudes to adopt along the way. In dialogue with nature ‘out there’ and nature ‘within ourselves’, we discover that we find ourselves more and more in the creative process.
This course is suitable for beginners and advanced students. Please bring your own examples of your work (or photos of them) and your familiar painting materials.
I am very much looking forward to sharing the adventure of art and creativity with you and to breaking new ground together!
