“Human life craves harmony and rhythm at every moment.” Plato

“It is not obvious beauty that is supreme, but that which is veiled; not the direct radiance of the sun, but the refracted light of the moon. The moss-covered rock, the grass-covered thatched roof, the gnarled pine, the slightly rusted teapot – these and similar things are the symbols of this ideal of beauty. It is about the majesty hidden within the shell of the unassuming, the austere simplicity that nevertheless reveals all the charms of beauty to those who understand.” (W. Gundert)
A complex developmental process: initial perceptual exercises are followed by working in layers with varied surfaces and patina as a material quality – the expression of growth and decay. We approach the diversity of natural tones experimentally – mysteriously and with refinement …
You can work with any materials and tools you wish: brushes, spatulas, rags and your hands … with liquid wax, ash, stone and chalk powders – dusted on or bound with water.

I will demonstrate working methods using chalk and stone powders, liquid wax, and collage (including collage on picture backgrounds).
Everything can be tried out, combined and reinterpreted. The course offers scope for free, experimental work – and the development of your own creative expression.

I will tailor the course to your existing knowledge, preferences and needs.
Everyone who enjoys colour and experimenting is warmly invited – whether you’re an experienced artist or a complete beginner on the path to mastery – and who relishes the unexpected!
