‘Just as a jazz musician must know his Bach in order to improvise well, so a painter must understand the principles of form, composition, the effect of shapes and colours, and the alchemy of the medium.’ (Robert Zielasco)
Through exercises, we aim to further develop a kind of instinct for composition, for the principles of form, line, colour and graphic elements. Only then can content be brought onto the surface – the picture – in a free-flowing, spontaneous manner.
With curiosity, we will experiment with mixing different materials and playing with
chance, harnessing the liveliness and vitality inherent in the process-oriented and experimental nature of the work. This gives rise to pictures full of tension, dynamism, depth and surprising details.
