Exploring the four elements (earth, water, fire, air) opens up wonderful opportunities to work in a primal and spontaneous way – drawing on bodily movement – and to create surprising visual worlds! And so we paint, glue, layer, wipe, pour paint,
print, use sand, rust and filler, and venture into the third
dimension with all manner of found objects.
We’ll learn about frottage, monotype and other techniques and apply them individually
in our creative work. We’ll explore worlds of materials, colours and textures, which we’ll use in our artwork
to create tension and contrast. We’ll experiment creatively, including with natural finds that
we bring back from short excursions in the local area.
We work with a completely open mind and approach our work with a keen enthusiasm for experimentation. We tap into our very own
creative energies for our daily – playful – work, which yields exciting
and surprising results.
This course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience. Please bring along examples of your own work
(or photos of them), and the art materials you’re used to working with. You’re also welcome to bring along items you’ve found in
your loft, cellar or garden. In addition, I’ll have various items available during the course for
collages.
Naturally, I’ll provide individual support and guidance to all course participants. Group
discussions of the artwork at the end of the course are, of course, also part of the programme. I’m really looking forward to
embarking on this adventure of art and creativity with you and, together, exploring new creative territory with joy and
enthusiasm!
