Nima is an artist and watercolourist with a background in architecture. His professional career began in 2005 with the                    establishment of his own design studio in his hometown of Tabriz, Iran. Over the following nearly twenty years, he was involved in projects in the UK, Dubai and Germany in both a leading and contributing capacity, including the Dubai Metro, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, London Gatwick Airport and private residences in Manchester. Today, he devotes himself full-time to drawing and watercolour painting. He collaborates with museums and design institutes both at home and abroad, as well as with brands such as Lamy, Schmincke and Fabriano.   At the heart of his artistic and educational work lies drawing from direct observation, both indoors and outdoors. His aim is to inspire people to draw in their everyday lives and to strengthen their perception, curiosity and connection with their surroundings.  His ink drawings and watercolours are held in private collections in Germany, the USA, Switzerland, Denmark and England.

ARTISTIC FOCUS & TEACHING
Nima’s artistic focus lies in architectural drawing and the fundamental principles of
drawing, such as perspective, proportion, abstraction and free, expressive painting. His
background in architecture and urban planning shapes his approach and enables him to analyse complex
urban landscapes and reduce them to simple forms, in order to capture the interplay of light
and shadow and create expressive watercolours. In his teaching, he conveys
these fundamentals in a practical way, combining technical understanding with creative
experimentation.
