Have you ever found yourself working on an artistic project for hours, days, sometimes weeks or even months, only to look at it and feel dissatisfied? Perhaps there’s nothing wrong with it – perhaps the colours are right and the technique is correct – but it doesn’t reflect the idea you had at the start? Don’t worry: this is a very common problem in any creative process, and you’re not alone. In this workshop, we’ll focus on solving this problem.
Many artists focus (quite rightly) on technical exercises, but the planning and significance of the content of the works themselves are often underestimated. In this workshop, we’ll organise a series of exercises to give your artistic style a structure, help you understand your creative potential, and create works with their own identity and an unforgettable style.
The course is structured as follows
1- Participants are invited to take part in a series of brainstorming exercises to learn how to draw and paint without preconceived ideas and to get to know their subconscious better.
2- The tutor will work with each participant individually in one-to-one sessions to understand their personal needs and artistic goals. At the same time, participants will engage in creative drawing through guided exercises.
3- During a coaching phase, an artistic development plan will be drawn up, which may include technical exercises, theoretical study, exhibition strategies, cultural exchange, etc.
3- Participants then have a choice between two options: they can attempt to create a small finished work using their newly acquired skills, or they can instead choose to produce a series of preliminary sketches for a larger project, which can then be developed further either individually or with other tutors. It should not be underestimated that the sketches produced here are works of art in their own right.
4- To conclude, a final group discussion takes place to exchange views, discuss the work carried out and answer any questions that remain unresolved at the end of the experience.
