Tue 20.04.- Sat 24.04.2027| 5 days

Let me show you a structured method for figurative painting that can lead to subtle gradations and realistic colours in your work. The focus will be on the fundamentals, which – when fully utilised – can result in atmospheric and expressive paintings. This is particularly important when tackling the complex task of painting from a live model.
We will cover topics such as skin tones, clothing, light, brushwork, tonal values, saturation, temperature and so-called ‘edges’. We will also explore the application of colours and various techniques for applying paint, including the use of brushes, painting mediums and primers.
This workshop is aimed at artists who have experience in drawing from a model and wish to venture into painting, or at those who already paint with oils and wish to expand and improve their repertoire in the field of figurative painting.
