‘Colours reflect the incoming light; the picture, on the other hand,
reflects our perception.’
When colours interact in a picture, a spatial or physical colour effect is created. Our perception is set in motion and a dialogue with the picture ensues. With a conscious eye for this dialogue, the emerging perceptions and perspectives, we will embark on a journey of physical,
sensual discovery of the image. Using intuitive approaches to develop our own ideas and techniques, we will undergo a process that will enable us to develop a more comprehensive concept of colourfulness. With lots of inspiration and in individual and group discussions, the aim is to improve awareness and perception of pictorial concepts such as: colour space and colour body, the different phases of the painting process, motivation, flow, the colour palette, structures, surfaces and the status of the painting.
Possible materials include acrylic and oil paints, chalks or charcoal.
