This course focuses, on the one hand, on the fundamentals of human anatomy – such as proportions, the course of muscles and their functions – and, on the other hand, on their representation in drawing, taking into account graphic principles such as foreshortening, overlapping, and different perspectives and views.
The interplay of these aspects will hone our powers of observation, expand our knowledge and make it easier for us to depict the nude in drawing. Understanding the theory is intended to make us more aware of the visual impact of line and hatching, enabling us to give them their own individual, specific artistic expression on paper. Through logical understanding, the artists gain clarity and, consequently, confidence in their artistic execution.
From pencil to charcoal, ink with a pen or brush – anything is possible, depending on personal preference.
