Daniel Man (born 1969, London) first emerged on the scene in 1984 under the graffiti name CODEAK.
Following intensive working trips around the globe,
he studied Fine Art until 2005 at the Braunschweig University of Art
and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Walter
Dahn and Markus Oehlen. Immediately after completing his studies, he was accepted into the
‘Projekte’ programme at Galerie Sprüth Magers; from 2009, he was represented
in Munich by Galerie Nusser & Baumgart. He is currently represented by
Galerie Andreas Binder.
Exhibitions in museums and galleries – including the Weserburg Museum of
Modern Art in Bremen, the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus and Kunstbau
in Munich, as well as in Augsburg, Istanbul, Silkeborg, Wuppertal, Hamburg, Zurich and
Leipzig – predominantly feature site-specific installations and bear witness to the
versatility of his artistic practice.
For around ten years, Daniel Man has been focusing increasingly on intuitive
layering in his painting. His most recent solo exhibition, *The PainThing*, took place in
the spring of 2026 at the Andreas Binder Gallery; he is also represented by two sculptural
works on permanent display in the colonnade of Bernd Zimmer’s STOA169.
His works are documented in numerous group catalogues; most recently, he
published a solo catalogue produced independently.
