The Lecturer                                                                                                                                                                                                    Alexandra Sonntag is a passionate painter and an open, creative personality. In painting, she finds a space where joy, intuition                      and energy can flow freely.                                                                                                                                                                            Alexandra combines artistic practice with extensive experience as a curator and lecturer. She teaches technical fundamentals with a keen pedagogical instinct, provides ideas, stimuli and inspiration, supports course participants on a strictly individual basis and creates space for free self-expression. In doing so, she focuses on one thing above all: the joy of the painting process itself.

The Work
Alexandra Sonntag’s painting thrives on the interplay between naturalism
and abstraction. Familiar motifs serve as a starting point for a free
exploration of colour, form and atmosphere. At times precisely observed, at times intuitively
dissolved, a dynamic visual language emerges that straddles the line between figuration
and abstraction.
In her workshops, Alexandra invites participants to experience this shift for themselves:
to see, let go, rediscover – and in doing so, develop their own painterly expression.
An inspiring journey in which, through transformation, one’s own
visual worlds come to light.
