Rebecca Raue

Rebecca Raue (born 1976) is an artist living in Berlin. Rebecca’s paintings, drawings and performances are exhibited internationally, including in Los Angeles, Abu Dhabi and Tokyo. With her finely composed, colour-intensive works, Rebecca Raue opens up space for inner journeys. In her paintings, she uses ciphers to find an expression for the invisible world that defines each of us at our core. RR is fascinated by individual lines, paths and spaces within human beings and uses them to construct landscapes that invite us to linger. By taking a fresh look at the old, Rebecca opens up spaces for contemplation about the future.

As founder and artistic director of the non-profit organisation Ephra, Rebecca works alongside her artistic practice in her studio to develop various formats for bringing children and artists together. In 2023, she curated the exhibition ‘Thoughts Play Hide and Seek’, which featured works by over 20 internationally recognised artists. A catalogue accompanying this project was published in 2024 by Hatje Cantz under the title ‘Thoughts Play Hide and Seek’. She collaborates with institutions such as the Gropius Bau, the Jewish Museum Berlin and the art department of the German Bundestag.
