Techniques of artistic intaglio printing. From preparing and processing the printing plates to the finished printed sheet. Copper plates measuring up to a maximum of 30 x 40 are mechanically processed, engraved with a ‘drypoint’ or etched with ferric chloride.
Templates can be transferred by tracing and colour plates can be produced by transfer printing. Line and surface etching, needle and sugar ink are used to gain an insight into the wide range of technical possibilities.
We will combine creative freedom with the necessary technical precision. You can print a small edition (max. five pieces, depending on the motif) from the printing plates you create. I would be happy to order larger editions.
The course is suitable for beginners and advanced students.
