We are exploring nude drawing as an artistic experiment, focusing on themes such as body, scene and space; slow motion; portraiture; the grotesque; and emotion. The focus is on developing a liberated visual language and exploring the process of image creation: How can I abstract and transform what I see? How can I explore new approaches – and also give letting go a chance? What can life drawing be? An encounter with the model. An encounter with myself.
We work in series. Carefully selected music creates an expanded space and provides inspiration for our ‘dance of expression’ through drawing. I am happy to address individual ideas specifically and guide you through your own work. In group discussions of the artwork, we explore criteria for visual composition within the context of contemporary art. The free interplay of materials lends itself to this: drawing, painting, monotype, encaustic, collage, in colour or black and white – minimalist or maximalist.
