How can we make ‘little’ appear large, powerful and impressive in a picture? Exploring this will be our task; we will work on the importance of the surface, the composition of the background, and the decision as to which part of the picture will ultimately – after several layers – be identified as the essential element and brought to the fore. You are welcome to bring along older works that may need revising; this will make it much easier to get started with the process of reduction.
