The focus of this course is painting and woodcuts ‘work in process’, a working method in which the image develops in a series of metamorphoses without a preconceived plan. Intuition and the ability to communicate with one’s own image are just as important as patience in dealing with the image and the courage to risk something new. The technical aspects of painting and woodcuts, as well as the creative use of forms and colours, also play a decisive role here. We experiment with glazes, spatula-applied surfaces, graphic elements and glued-in papers. The workshop offers the opportunity to combine painting and woodcuts or to devote oneself exclusively to painting or woodcuts. A 240 square metre studio with easels, work tables and a printing press.
