The project weeks offer a professional opportunity to engage intensively with one’s own artistic practice over the course of three weeks. The duration of the course creates a special space for in-depth work, continuous development and a sustained artistic process.
The focus is on the question of how one’s own expression in painting can be further developed and refined – both in terms of form and content. We do not view the various possibilities of painting – whether in the material, compositional or historical treatment of images – as fixed categories, but rather as open tools for one’s own work. You will experiment with different approaches and, in doing so, explore classic tensions within painting: concept and form, representation and abstraction, depth and surface, as well as realism and imagination. The aim is to gain new perspectives on your own practice whilst making your own decisions with greater awareness and clarity. Throughout the project weeks, I will be available to you in the studio as a point of contact.
The three weeks offer time to examine your own work in depth:
Where am I at the moment? What is on my mind? Which themes, images or working methods do I wish to pursue further? Which techniques can I still learn to help me achieve my goals?
Through discussion with the group and engagement with one’s own work, the aim is to develop individual artistic solutions and further refine one’s own visual language. This process fosters not only technical skills but also perseverance, concentration and a joy in experimentation.
The Academy’s spacious and inspiring studio provides the ideal working environment for this. In addition, we have access to a printing press, which enables us to expand on painterly approaches through printmaking techniques and explore new creative avenues.
The programme also includes one or two film evenings per week, as well as a possible visit to an exhibition in Salzburg – depending on the extent to which the current exhibitions are thematically relevant to our course.
Previous experience in painting is welcome. If you are interested in the course but unsure whether your level of experience is suitable, please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to advise you personally – by email at endyhupperich1@gmail.com or by phone via WhatsApp or Signal on +52 55 6468 7489.
The project weeks are designed as a continuous three-week working process and derive their special quality from the ongoing work throughout the entire period. Those who cannot attend all three weeks have the option of booking the first or second week individually, or both weeks (€540 per course week).
