“The only thing more important than what you paint is what you leave out.” We will design our course according to this basic principle of minimalist watercolor painting. With minimal means, we will create artistic works of maximum expressiveness. We will try out many different watercolor painting techniques, from wet on wet to wet on dry to painting with a dry brush. We will also experiment with color, both in monochrome and in setting precise color accents. The “encounter” with gouache, the closest relative of watercolor, will also be a topic. The landscape is the subject of our works, both after sketching and in free, intuitive composition. How we make more out of less is the path and goal of our joint exploration of minimalist watercolor painting.
