In this five-day course, we will focus on large-format painting and explore the versatile possibilities of Aquarylic paints, which combine abstraction and realism. You will learn to create works that integrate both abstract and representational elements using reduced colour palettes and experimental techniques. The focus will be on exploring surface, line, movement and material.
You will not only work on the wall, but also in a large-format, experimental space, creating both small works and daring, large-scale compositions. Through targeted exercises and intuitive approaches, you will create works that can range from unexpected compositions to concrete representations.
We start with exercises on paper and also work on canvases and hard surfaces such as wood to experience different textures and structures. This expands the range of artistic expression, with a focus on combining materials and techniques to create contrasts and surface textures. Working with large-format canvases or combining several image surfaces conveys a sense of freedom and development.
Painting is not just about colour, but also about the design of surfaces. The creative use of different materials makes it possible to create interesting contrasts and develop compositions through colour, surface and line.
This course offers space for the realisation of individual themes and invites you to discover new technical and creative possibilities. You will work in a free but focused environment and expand your practice in innovative ways.
