Shadow and light play a central role in art, especially in drawing and painting. They give works depth, mood and expressiveness. The technique of using light and shadow can create the illusion of three-dimensionality and draw the viewer’s attention to specific areas. Artists often experiment with different light sources and shadow effects to achieve the desired contrasts and drama.
Both workshops – experimental drawing and experimental painting – are dedicated to this fascinating topic and offer an ideal opportunity to deepen your skills and learn new techniques in both media. Under expert guidance, participants can explore different methods and apply them in their own work. Experimentation plays a major role in the working method. This does not mean chaotic activity, but rather careful observation, trial and error, reflection and openness to new ideas.
Personal work discussions, general reviews of the work and, above all, daily slide lectures on art history reflect on the individual works, thus deepening the learning process and personal development.

Suitable for beginners and advanced students. Also available in English. The two workshops can also be booked separately.
