‘With an apple, I will astonish Paris’ – this is how Paul Cézanne amazed his compatriots in Paris. Since the 17th century, lavishly arranged bouquets of flowers, exotic fruits, game, carafes and musical instruments have increasingly appeared in paintings.
The term is derived from the Dutch word for ‘still leven’, meaning ‘still life’. Dutch artists from 1600 onwards brought this art form to its absolute peak.
We will bring flower and fruit still lifes to the canvas in a lively and new interpretation.
