What happens when we give perception more space than our preconceptions? How does our expression change when we question the familiar and try out new ways of working?
In this seminar, we explore abstract painting as a living space for experience. The joy of experimentation, openness to new ideas and trust in our own perception form the core of our work. Colour, form, movement and material accompany us on a creative journey of discovery, in which introspection, conscious decision-making and productive chance work together.
Painting becomes a space in which we pause, perceive and come into contact with what touches and moves us. Between letting go and creating, movement and stillness, images develop that unfold step by step. Traces, layers and consolidations tell of a process underpinned by presence and openness.
Perception exercises, free experimental work, group discussions of images and individual inspiration help us to open up new approaches to the creative process and develop a personal expressiveness. We see spontaneity, gesture and unexpected twists as valuable impulses within a living process.
Working in larger formats opens up space for movement and presence. There is also the opportunity to make your own paints from pigments and to discover their unique materiality and expressive power.
In a supportive and inspiring environment, I will guide you in developing your creative expression and exploring the diverse possibilities of abstract painting.
Suitable for beginners and those with some experience.
