Intensive course with Manuela Karin Knaut & Angelika Domenig
Two experienced artists invite you to an intensive week-long studio course combining classical painting with collage, material experimentation and found objects. The aim is to explore new artistic avenues, allow processes to unfold and break free from habitual patterns. Participants work on canvas or paper – in layers, overlays and open image forms. Plaster, wire, concrete, textiles or found objects brought along meet colour, gesture and composition. Painting becomes a field of searching for traces. The course begins with classic basics such as line, surface and colour in order to develop an individual visual language – whether painterly or collage-like, expressive or reduced.
A materials table at the beginning invites participants to bring their own collage papers, textiles and objects, which can also be shared with others. A book island also offers the opportunity to inspire each other with art books. Demonstrations, discussions, short impulses and individual feedback create a dynamic workspace. Discarding, starting afresh, making traces visible – all this is part of this week. Openness, courage and curiosity are at the centre.
This course is aimed at artists who want to experiment, deepen their knowledge and move out of their comfort zone – regardless of their level of experience. The combination of two artistic positions allows for a special depth and opens up a wide, free workspace that promotes personal development and artistic expression in equal measure.
